That really is quite a send off from Greece! Zephyr and the other wind gods of ancient myth must really have wanted you to have the full experience.

But very glad to read it was still a safe journey in the end. The slate blue storm colour in your photos is absolutely stunning.

Thank you so much, George! I truly will never forget it, or the shades of blue.

Quite an adventure...

Any thought to life preservers? It's unconscionable if they weren't taken out of their bins by the crew and distributed and worn by everyone during a gale force storm (this is a comment BTW from a very seasoned sailor...). Kind of like driving at 100mph without a seatbelt..

You know, I can’t speak for below deck but no I didn’t see anyone with a life preserver. Truly the crew seemed fairly unconcerned. It was hard to tell if I was being a very unseasoned boat passenger and over reacting (internally) or if it was indeed a reckless situation, perhaps they felt it was just under control enough as to not panic everyone by handing them out, there was a pretty strong language barrier. Everything in Greece felt a little one step to the side of the rules and regulations. For the most part it’s charming and old-timey but now that you mention it the preservers wouldn’t have hurt!
