An anniversary

An American woman walks into a Paris bar on the 29th day of February, a day that only appears on the calendar every four years.

I took this photo in 2020 on my last day in Paris along boulevard Richard Lenoir, not knowing I would live only a ten minute walk away from this very spot a year later. Yesterday, I walked by the same trees; they are just beginning to bloom.

Late February, 2020 from a cab window. I couldn’t speak or read any French then. Now, this feels very full of meaning to me. Samuél and I married a year later in March on a very rainy day.

2020, The same last day walk along the boulevard. I buy my groceries here weekly now.
